Red/Orange Line
O5/R10 Formosa Boulevard

(I) “Wavy” Design: Vigorousness of Passthrough

The primary and secondary entrances are designed transparently with tempered plyglass to highlight the passthrough of the building, with the vivid wavy exterior shape, it presents a continuously combined dynamic construction in the main members of the structure.

(II) “Ship-styled” Design: Uniformity of Groups

At the square on the ground floor, the facilities include a large pool as a symbol of the ocean, a vent shaft for the cooling tower, a vent shaft for intake and exhaust, an elevator tower, and accesses for firefighters. The masses in different sizes suggest ships of various designs anchoring at the harbor.

(III) “Praying” Design: Static Symbolic Characteristics

The four entrances to the square are converted to a shape of “praying with the palms put together” in the hope that people can memorize the stories of the wise predecessors when coming to this place, and the descendants of the next generations can gather here to pray for the future.

(IV) “Whirlpool” Design: Dynamic Manifestation

The four entrances on the ground floor and the underground round square are asymmetric, unbalanced and unstable in design. This reflects:
─ the convergence of the red and orange lines
─ the intersection of the history and ocean
The whirlpool and spray presented demonstrate the featured convergence and scatter of the MRT.
