To Accelerate Yellow Line Construction, The KMRT Bureau Holds Landlord Briefings, Attracting the Public to Enthusiastically Participating in

In order to create a high-quality public transportation environment for a 30-minute living circle in the Greater Kaohsiung area, connect the Asian New Bay Area, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts Weiwuying, Sihwei Administration Center, Chang Gung Medical Hospital, Chengcing Lake Scenic Area, and concatenate Red-Orange Line of KMRT, KLRT and railway underground stations, Kaohsiung City government promotes the construction of Yellow Line of KMRT, with a total length of 22.91 km and 23 stations. When Yellow Line of KMRT has been accomplished, the road network will be more completed.

In order to obtain land for access, ventilation shafts, interchanging and related facilities of the KMRT Yellow Line Stations, the KMRT Bureau has drawn up a modified blueprint of urban plan, and held a public exhibition from September 11, 2021 to October 13, 2021. The follow-up will conduct land development in accordance with “Regulations for the Joint Development of Land Adjacent to or Contiguous with Rapid Transit Systems.” The KMRT Bureau has successively held a series of landlord briefings since October 13, 2021 to help landlords understand more about subsequent development procedures. The activities attracted the public to enthusiastically participate in, and the district councilors also came to care the affairs.

At present, the comprehensive plan of the KMRT Yellow Line has been transferred from Ministry of Transportation and Communications to Executive Yuan for approval. The entire line is expected to start construction in the year of 2022 and be completed in the year of 2028. After the opening of the Yellow Line, the KMRT can provide passengers with convenient and intensive mass transportation services in the metropolitan area of the city, ushering in numerous crowd and driving the local development.
