R9 Central Park
  1. The excavation and opening areas at the entrance to the park are extended to the ground level through a gentle slope with green plants and further to the underground station, allowing passengers to embrace a wide, open space once leaving the station and enjoy the green environment and the cool air. With these, the Central Park announces its existence in advance and accessing the MRT system through the park becomes the greatest enjoyment in life.
  2. The top cover of the entrance is designed with a 3D arc and formed as a visible landmark. When looking down at the top cover, it is developed in sectors with the center point directing to the center of the park. The edge of the top cover spreads toward Zhongshan Road. In addition to pointing the direction, it symbolizes the capacity to hold a large crowd. The edge of the sector can be used as a shelter for the people who are waiting for the bus.
  3. RRP uses metal materials and fabrication methods with which they are skilled to design the top cover for the entrance. By fixing lightweight members to the side wall, they not only support the top cover, but also manifest the structural mechanics and aesthetics and reflect the modernization of Kaohsiung City.
  4. The roofing is designed with dotted openings to produce shadows under the daylight that vary rhythmically along with the movement of the passengers. In the night, the light cast from the bottom to the top through the openings and the lighting effect of the station create a mirthful and splendid atmosphere.
  5. For the Entrance 2 and Entrance 3 which open toward the sidewalk, RRP attentively designs a wide, open space for the passengers based on their constant philosophy in the application of metal structures and elevated upright styles, reflecting the modernization of the station and corresponding to Entrance 1.
