Circular LRT Line
C21 Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts

The new C21A-C24 stations of Kaohsiung Light Rail entered operation on Oct 5, 2022, of which C21 station is located in the southeast corner of the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMFA). As it is adjacent to the parking lot of the KMFA, the station structure was designed through collaboration with the KMFA and features distinct white ripples in the overall design, echoing the imagery of the ripples of the pond on the east side of the museum. It also makes use of the existing pedestrian walkway planted with Madagascar almond (Terminalia mantaly) as a light rail corridor to create a green tunnel rail area and a green urban landscape, offering public transit to nearby residents and visitors of the art “museum”.

With the debut of the Neiwei Arts Center Station structure in the shape of ripples, followed by the installation of embedded LED lights to provide lighting and create a high-tech flowing landscape, the Museum of Fine Arts, imbued with a rich sense of the arts and humanities, now features an additional large-scale public art site, which is expected to become a popular new photo spot!
